Oceaan Pendharkar

Oceaan Pendharkar (they/them) is an alt-pop singer, writer, and musician whose introspective music blends lush layered vocals, celestial synths, and infectious guitar hooks. Exploring themes of love, identity, and self-discovery, Oceaan’s songs are vulnerable and exploratory, drawing inspiration from artists like Kimbra and Lucy Dacus (think: tender emo ballads go electric and/or electronic). Oceaan lives on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səlilwətaɬ) Nations (aka Vancouver).

Oceaan started their original project (FKA Oatmeal Queen) in 2019. They have played keys with artists such as Tonye Aganaba, Kimmortal, and Ashleigh Ball, and composed, produced, performed in Glow Motive with Anjalica Solomon (2021-2023) and in a duo with Tenise Marie (2014-2015). These projects have shaped Oceaan's artistry, deepened their love for collaboration, and highlighted the meaningful impact of original music on their communities.

With music and production education from Selkirk and Langara Colleges, Oceaan brings technical fluency and creative curiosity to their art. Their upcoming solo work marks a new chapter, mixing live arranging and looping with the dulcet tones of their longtime partner Thomas Hoeller's electric guitar. Their new songs have a renewed focus on storytelling that feels personal, playful, and alive.

As Oceaan prepares to share new music in the upcoming year, they are continuing to evolve as both an artist and producer, creating songs that invite listeners to connect, reflect, and feel deeply.
